1. GOWO (Government Officials’ Welfare Organization) , is a registered organization in New Delhi. Certificate of Registration has been obtained under Section 60 vide Registration No. 1782 in additional Book No. 4 Vol No 2617 on page 1 to 16 on 13/04/2009, (Monday) by the Sub Registrar I, New Delhi.
 
2. Statement of the Problem, that GOWO intends to tackle : - Govt. Officers and employees forget their own identity during the course of their service and only on retirement are faced with this enormous reality that they don’t even have their own homes. Homes in the right cities where their children can study & work or homes in the right places where they can spend their post retirement life in peace and dignity. This happens because land is a state subject and the centre holds no land. Land is either bought from farmers or developers or allotted by state Govts. It is therefore extremely difficult to get land to form societies where personnel and officers of similar backgrounds and like minded people can live. The aim of this organization is to provide safe, comfortable and low cost mass housing to govt employees, officers, their dependants and families. The essential theme being low cost and mass housing. GOWO endeavours to provide affordable housing to retired and retiring Govt. officials, to enable them to settle down after retirement. This is done by tying up with various builders and developers. GOWO doesn’t construct any properties on its own.
 
3.  Buying a comfortable and affordable house is getting more and more challenging these days. For ex-servicemen or those still serving, it becomes extremely imperative to put their hard earned money in trustworthy hands. We at GOWO try to be transparent with all our transactions. The aim of GOWO is to provide low cost, mass & affordable housing & welfare measures to all Officers & personnel being paid salaries or pensions from the Govt budget. This includes their family members, dependants, Senior citizens, retired, retiring officers, ladies & children needing help & support. All Central Govt. Ministry. Viz. Ministries of finance/home external affairs/defence/para militaries, all central government Department & Commissions, all State Govt. Officials working in any Ministry or Department, Defence Production, DRDO, Police, PSUS, Public sector Banks, Govt. Hospitals & all Govt. run educational institutions, autonomous bodies are eligible. All officials drawing their salaries or pensions from the Govt. budget & includes their family members.
 
4.  Once you become a member in one of GOWO societies, you get the following benefits : -

• During Construction – Members get complete details and cost breakup in writing & also on website & brochure.

 

• GOWO monitors the construction as per schedule and keeps members informed of construction schedule and delays as and when their payments are due.

 

• We help members who for some reason are not able to continue with their house and wish to cancel due to some personal requirement. For those members who have been paying on time, GOWO assists them in recovery of their paid up amounts. For members who have not been paying on time, GOWO does not take any responsibility, since they as per their declarations and agreemenst are required to pay interest & subject to deductions on delayed payments as per General Rules.

 

• GOWO takes up complaints of common nature with the Builder / developer.

 

• Post Completion / Handing Over – GOWO assists members – specially out station members in looking after their properties.
